Unearthing The Undead 30 - HARRY ZINZELLA
Harry Michael Zinzella was a thoughtful and creative soul born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, he pursued his passions for acting and art at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Though he later returned to his family’s farm in Rossiter, PA, where he spent most of his life, Harry’s mind roamed far and wide.
A lifelong student of philosophy and religion, Harry found joy in reading, writing, painting, and immersing himself in music, film, and spiritual inquiry. He never married but was a beloved uncle who left a deep impression on his nieces and nephews. He introduced them to classic movies like Night of the Living Dead, The Clan of the Cave Bear, and The Blob, and exposed them to various music, ranging from Pink Floyd to Beethoven.
His artistic talents flourished throughout his life, with a notable exhibition at the Terrain Gallery in New York City in 1975. A poet and writer, he self-published Distant Skies: Exercises in Meditative Comprehension, a reflection of his deep contemplative nature.
Harry’s favorite poem—cherished by his family—reads:
“I was born before I was born. Death was my completion.
I entered into the world through my own reflection.”
He was a devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rossiter. Harry Michael Zinzella leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, intellectual exploration, and creative inspiration that continues to echo in the lives he touched in his quiet corner of the world.
